Shealy Accepts Endorsement of South Carolina Republican Party
Senate race is about who voters can trust
LEXINGTON COUNTY – Katrina Shealy, candidate for State Senate and businesswoman, today accepted the endorsement of the South Carolina Republican Party. Shealy is running for the Senate as a “petition” candidate against failed incumbent Senator Jake Knotts. Knotts has the “Republican” position on the ballot but now without the backing of his own party.
The endorsement which was issued over the weekend came from an overwhelming unanimous statewide vote of the entire Republican Party’s Executive Committee. Not one of the 42 Members present voted to support or defend Knotts.
“When I am elected to the State Senate people will not have to lay awake at night wondering what deal Jake Knotts is cutting or what scheme he is entering into to benefit himself,” said Shealy.
“They will know that I am there hard at work improving our economy, promoting our true conservative values and ensuring our kids have a brighter future. The fun and games surrounding Jake Knotts has to end. Governing is serious business and Jake Knotts has failed and lost the confidence of the people,” said Katrina Shealy the now Republican-endorsed candidate.
Shealy looks forward to having the votes of Republicans, independents and Democrats who feel that it is time to clean house of out-of-touch politicians.
